Las Vegas – Three organizations representing a broad, bipartisan cross-section of Nevada’s military and veteran community have endorsed fiscal watchdog Drew Johnson for Nevada State Treasurer.

The endorsements come from the Armed Forces Chamber, Veterans In Politics International, and the Nevada Veterans Association. The organizations worked together to engage candidates through a joint public interview and endorsement process focused on the priorities of veterans, active-duty service members, military families, and the wider Nevada community.

Together, the three endorsements demonstrate support for Johnson that extends across partisan and organizational lines within Nevada’s veteran community.

“I am deeply honored to earn the support of these respected veterans organizations,” Johnson said. “The men and women who have served our country understand duty, accountability, and responsible stewardship. Those are the same principles I will bring to the State Treasurer’s Office.”

Johnson said Nevada can do more to ensure that veterans, active-duty service members, and military families receive money that rightfully belongs to them—particularly through the state’s unclaimed-property program.

Military life often requires frequent moves between duty stations, deployments, and states. As addresses change, utility deposits, refunds, final paychecks, insurance proceeds, and other financial assets can become disconnected from their rightful owners and eventually be transferred to the state as unclaimed property.

“As Treasurer, I will work to streamline the process for returning unclaimed property to veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families,” Johnson said. “When reliable government records can confirm someone’s identity and ownership, the state should proactively return that money instead of forcing a veteran to discover it, navigate unnecessary paperwork, and wait months to receive it.”

Johnson’s plan would use secure data matching, partnerships with veterans organizations, and automatic disbursements when ownership can be reliably verified. More complicated claims would continue to receive appropriate review, but routine cases should not be delayed by needless government bureaucracy.

“Our veterans kept their promises to this country. Nevada should keep its promise to them,” Johnson said. “That means respecting their service, protecting their financial interests, and not making them fight through another layer of red tape.”

The endorsements add to Johnson’s growing coalition of veterans, taxpayers, grassroots advocates, and conservative and independent leaders supporting his campaign for Nevada State Treasurer.
