Las Vegas – Today, Nevada State Controller Andy Matthews announced his endorsement of fellow conservative Drew Johnson in his campaign for Nevada’s 3rd congressional district.

Matthews, a former Nevada State Assemblyman and previous president of the Nevada Policy Research Institute, applauded Johnson’s work holding public officials accountable for wasteful government spending, corruption in office, and increasing the size and scope of the government at the expense of our taxpayers and their individual liberties.

“I’m proud to endorse my friend Drew Johnson for Congress, and I encourage Nevada voters in the 3rdcongressional district to help get him elected,” stated Controller Andy Matthews.

“Drew is not only a fellow conservative, but like me, he has dedicated much of his life to rooting out corruption and wasted tax dollars, while protecting our liberties and fighting to make government spending more transparent. In Congress, Drew will hold leaders in both parties accountable and will serve our state with honesty, integrity, and principled leadership.”

Johnson, like Matthews, previously served as president of a leading free market think tank, and worked at the National Taxpayers Union and Taxpayers Protection Alliance.

Last week, Republican Drew Johnson announced his campaign to represent Nevada residents of the 3rd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. In addition to being one of America’s best-known and most-effective government watchdogs, Drew and his wife Sarah own and operate a small business and are both actively involved in trying to improve the quality of life for ordinary Nevadans.

Nevada’s 3rd congressional district is considered one of the nation’s top-tier swing districts and is listed as a key pick-up opportunity for Republicans.
