Statement by Grover Norquist in Support of Drew Johnson
Grover Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform, released a statement on Friday praising Clark County Commission candidate Drew Johnson’s career accomplishments and commitment to taxpayers.
“Drew Johnson has spent his career fighting for smaller, more accountable government. He has uncovered wasteful spending, pushed to eliminate burdensome regulations, and forced corrupt lawmakers out of office,” said Norquist.
“The people of Clark County would benefit from his experience as a policy expert and a tenacious government watchdog,” Norquist continued.
Norquist, who founded Americans for Tax Reform in 1985 at President Ronald Reagan’s request, is known for his work to limit the size and cost of government and oppose higher taxes at the federal, state and local levels.
Johnson, a Republican who is running to represent District F on the Clark County Commission, has worked as a tax and budget policy scholar and government watchdog reporter at think tanks and media outlets including the National Taxpayers Union, the Taxpayers Protection Alliance, the National Center for Public Policy Research, The Washington Times, The Daily Caller and Newsmax. He is credited with exposing billions of dollars in wasteful spending at all levels of government.
